Upcoming pan-Indian film ‘Varanasi’, directed SS Rajamouli and protagonist Mahesh Babu is making headlines time and time again. The big budget film is being produced on a massive scale. Ever since the project started, fans have been keenly following all the updates related to the film. Huge sets for important scenes have already been built in Hyderabad, and the team is shooting at a brisk pace. Now, a new report about the upcoming schedule of the film has come under lock and key.

Reports of water crisis surrounding the film ‘Varanasi’ go viral

According to a report by ABP Live, the makers of “Varanasi” have reportedly ordered a large number of water boats to shoot the underwater scenes on a specially constructed stage at Gaganpahad near Rajendranagar. The group is said to have ordered about 150 water tanks, each with a capacity of 10,000 liters, from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. However, reports say that the request has been turned down due to the summer water shortage in Hyderabad. Reports say that the officials could not allocate such a large amount of water for filming because of the rising public demand for drinking water across the city. Although there is no official confirmation yet, the news has quickly gone viral online.

Mahesh Babu goes to Germany while the team prepares underwater action schedule

Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu recently traveled to Germany for trekking and physical training in the Black Forest region. At the same time, director SS Rajamouli is reportedly planning the next shooting schedule for ‘Varanasi’. According to reports, the makers are aiming to shoot the underwater sequences from May 18 onwards. A letter allegedly sent by the production house asking for water supply has also surfaced on social media and is being circulated. The letter mentioned that the production team would pay for the transportation of the tanker and purify the supplied water before using it on location.

Despite the constant rumours, the excitement surrounding ‘Varanasi’ remains very high among fans. Mahesh Babu will play various roles in the movie including Rudra, Lord Rama and others. Apart from Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, Prithviraj Sukumaranand Prakash Raj all feature in the film. The screenplay is being written by Vijayendra Prasad, and the film’s music is by MM Keeravani. Despite the initial lack of clarity surrounding the watercraft incident at this stage, the issue has received a wide range of views from elements of the separatist movement, other audiences and experts.
