Filmmaker Karan Johar has announced that he will make his Met Gala debut this year. Known for her bold and experimental fashion choices, her look, said to be in a Manish Malhotra ensemble, is expected to turn heads on the red carpet.

Met Gala 2026 The topic
On November 17, 2025, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced the Costume Institute’s spring 2026 exhibit, “Costume Art.” The exhibition will explore representations of the clothed body in the museum’s curatorial departments, juxtaposing clothing with art objects dating back nearly 5,000 years, Vogue reports.The exhibition will be organized in a “series of thematic body types”, from the “Nude Body” and the “Classic Body” to less common themes such as “The Pregnant Body” and “The Aging Body”.
