‘Raja Shivaji’, starring Riteish Deshmukh, has had a great opening weekend, collecting Rs 40.34 crore in its first three days in India.

On Day 3, the historical drama earned around Rs 12.00 crore from 5,771 shows, according to Sacnilk’s early estimates. The Marathi version continued to lead the film’s performance, contributing Rs 7.75 crore, while the Hindi version saw growth with a collection of Rs 4.25 crore. This helped the film earn its third double-digit collection in its opening weekend.With this, the film’s net collection in India stands at 33.90 crores, and the gross collection has reached 40.34 crores.

Despite a relatively smaller release of 1,852 shows in Marathi, the film had a strong occupancy of 67%. In contrast, the Hindi version released in 3,919 shows registered a lower occupancy of 22%, contributing Rs 4.25 crore to the day’s total.After a strong opening with a collection of 11.35 crores on Friday, the film earned around 10.55 crores on Saturday, which saw a slight decline of 7% on the second day before rebounding on Sunday and seeing a growth of 13.7% at the box office.
‘Raja Shivaji’ beats ‘Lai Bhaari’ lifetime collections
Notably, the film has surpassed initial expectations, as it initially had doubts about crossing the 10 million mark in the initial phase.As of May 2026, Raja Shivaji holds the record for the biggest opening day and weekend for a Marathi film, earning Rs 13.51 crore on Day 1 and Rs 33.90 crore on the first three days. It has surpassed first releases like ‘Sairat’, ‘Ved’ and has already surpassed the lifetime collection of ‘Lai Bhaari’ which earned 40 crores in 2014.
