HPSC HCS Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
The selection process has three stages:
- Preliminary examination
- Main Exam
- Personality Test (Interview)
The preliminary examination consisted of two objective type papers of 100 marks:
- General Studies (Paper I)
- Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) Paper II
Paper II is qualifying in nature, and only General Studies marks are considered for shortlisting candidates for the main examination.
HPSC HCS Mains Exam 2026
Candidates who qualify the preliminary exam will now appear in the main written exam. The mains exam is scheduled to be held from 27th June to 29th June 2026. The mains exam will have six descriptive papers, including:
- English
- Hindi
- Four General Studies Papers
Candidates who qualify the mains exam will be called for the personality test, which will carry 75 marks. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the mains examination and interview.
