IIT Madras has released the Business Rules (Information Brochure) for admissions in the academic year 2026-27, outlining the admission pathways for undergraduate programs across the B.S.B.Tech and Dual Degree Courses. The admission framework includes Fine Arts and Culture Excellence (FACE), Science Olympiad Excellence (SCOPE) and Olympiad Admission Mode (OAM) for BS Mathematics.The registration for the admission process will start on 6th May 2026 through the official portals of the respective modes. The institute has detailed eligibility rules, application guidelines and program structures for candidates seeking admission through alternative merit-based routes along with standard academic criteria.Admission procedures announced under FACE, SCOPE and OAM.FACE mode applies to candidates who excel in arts and culture, while SCOPE targets students who have excelled in national and international Science Olympiads. The OAM route is designed exclusively for the BS (Mathematics) program, offering a structured pathway to advanced mathematics training.Eligibility criteria are aligned with JEE Advanced framework.Eligibility conditions for all three modes remain as per JEE (Advanced) requirements for the respective academic year. Candidates should not have taken admission in any IIT in previous years. In addition, SCOPE applicants must have attended accredited Olympiad training camps including IMOTC, OCSC or IOITC within the last four years.FACE Entry Points System and Seat AllocationFACE admission Qualification in JEE (Advanced) 2025 with recognition in at least one category of national or international level achievement in arts and culture is required. The assessment follows a point system, with 100 points awarded once in a lifetime, 75 points to category A and 50 points to category B. Each program offers two seats, one gender neutral and one for women only.Science Olympiad Excellence Participation Requirements and InstitutionsSCOPE Competency Includes participation in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Informatics Olympiad training camps organized by HBCSE or IARCS. Participating institutions under SCOPE include IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Mandi. Sector-wise program and Olympiad priorities determine the allocation of seats in all sectors.Under the BS Mathematics OAM program structure and pathwaygave BS (Mathematics) program under OAM is a four-year undergraduate course with an option to extend to a dual BS-MS degree. It combines core mathematics training with electives in information technology, finance, actuarial science and data analytics. Students can also pursue humanities electives and minors, supporting research, industry roles and pathways to higher education.
