Speaking at the prestigious CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, the actor shared that his transition from a regional star to a global icon has required a slower and more rigorous approach to filmmaking. With two highly anticipated projects in Indian cinema, ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ and magnum opus, ‘Toxic’Ramayana‘ on his plate, Yash emphasized that creating “world-class cinema” cannot be rushed. However, while fans are eager for his return, the actor also admitted that he is looking forward to the personal time required by the large scale of these productions.
Yash talks about taking a short break after his films
In a recent interaction with Collider at CinemaCon 2026, Yash finally spoke about his long hiatus and the possibility of taking a break after completing his next films. The actor candidly said, “It’s more that I want to take a break. I’ve been working on two films continuously.”Yash admitted how his fans have been missing him on screen since 2022, but clarified that his current career requires a lot of patience and commitment. He noted that since his upcoming projects are designed for a global stage, they require meticulous planning and intensive collaboration.
Yash opens up about his busy schedule
In the same interaction, Yash also made it clear that he has not been idle despite being away from theatres. “Even though it seems like I haven’t been on screen for a long time, I’m constantly working,” he shared in the interview. The actor spoke about how difficult it is to shoot films like ‘Ramayana’ because of the high level of technology, costumes, preparation and special effects required. He also talked about combining his work and life. Talking about family time, Yash said, “I’m somehow managing family time,” adding, “Maybe I’d like to spend quality time with my family, so I’d probably take a break.”

On the professional front, Yash is currently focused on two ambitious films. Fans are eagerly waiting for ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ directed by Geetu Mohandas. After that, Yash will be seen in ‘Ramayana’ Nitesh Tiwari has written, directed and shot, playing the demonic Ravana opposite Ranbir and Sai. The film is a two-part serial and will release on Diwali 2026 and 2027.
