‘Papi Gudia’ actress Poonam Dasgupta has lodged a complaint with the Oshiwara police in Mumbai after receiving explicit pornographic videos and nude images from an unknown WhatsApp number. The incident happened on April 27, around 18:30, while he was at home. Dasgupta, who started her career in film and television and has appeared in several Hindi and regional projects over the years, said the messages shocked her and caused her severe mental stress. He sent the screenshots to the police, who have launched an investigation to track down the sender.

According to Mid-Day, Dasgupta approached the police after discussing the matter with her husband. On April 29, he formally registered the complaint at the Oshiwara police station. The police have registered a case under the provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and have started efforts to identify the person behind the unknown WhatsApp number.The actress told the publication that she tried calling the number after receiving the first obscene material, but no one answered. He then blocked the sender and informed his family about what had happened.Dasgupta also said that the person had leaked some of his old photos. He said those images are not publicly available, which led him to suspect the sender might be someone he knew.

“Those pictures are no longer on Google. It makes me feel like this could be someone known to me, that I’m deliberately trying to mentally harass him,” Dasgupta said at midday.Talking about the nature of the messages, Dasgupta said that in public, people often receive messages from fans, including inappropriate ones. However, he said this incident was different because of the explicit material sent to the phone.“I’ve never experienced anything so rough,” he said. “I have blocked many numbers before for inappropriate messages, but this is the first time someone has sent such rude videos. I was shocked.”Dasgupta started his journey as a child artist in Bengali cinema and later worked in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada films. He also appeared in TV shows including ‘Zee Horror Show’ and stage productions, building a long career in the industry. Police are now analyzing the screenshots sent by Dasgupta and trying to trace the number used to send the obscene videos, nude images and old photos.
