On May 1, in the heart of Hollywood, at the official TCL Chinese Theater, the famous veteran star Glenn Close held her hand and footprint ceremony. He was surrounded by his family, friends and fans as he finished the event with a big smile on his face.PEOPLE reports that when he was called to the stage afterwards to give a speech, he gave a shout-out to all the other veteran legends who had come before him and performed as he did the ceremony. Later in the speech, he added: “We are members of the alien nation, because I think maybe we have more antennae than other humans. And there are aliens and civilians, and we certainly speak different languages. I fear a world where civilians completely remove us from the aliens. We foreigners grow and live in creative collaboration. It is our support.”

Recalling them in his speech, Close added: “They all had stories of overcoming, of persevering, often having to balance their public personas against what they really were against expectations. People with a dream, of course. But those who had an unstoppable crazy belief—a crazy engine of belief—that they had something special to help the world understand what it means, man, man, what it means, this man, this earth. To be considered worthy of their company is the honor of my life.’
