Recently, while discussing the trailer and release of the film, he talked about a video game easter egg that many fans have missed.

While speaking with IGN, he revealed a fun and simple Easter egg to honor the popular video game series that inspired the film. He revealed that it was an essential item in the video game that gives players health points.Elaborating on the matter, he said: “There is a plant, on the left of the screen, over the right shoulder, you can kind of see it. In the movie, the shot comes out more and you can see it [better]. I took the green grass from Resident Evil 4, and replicated the ship exactly, right at the end of that shot you can see the ship with the horizontal copper line and the grass is accurate to Resident Evil 4.Considering why he has included the factory as a reference, he clarified and expressed his enthusiasm for making the film. He added: “Although this probably lives in the world [Resident Evil 2]I wanted to use 4 a little here because it’s my favorite. And I have other elements of 4 scattered throughout this film that people will notice.”Giving more details about the film, Cregger added that it will be based on the first day of the Raccoon City explosion. It will also show characters moving from one location to another, just like in video games, to keep them as realistic as possible.
