The actor, who plays the villainous Ravana opposite Ranbir Kapoor’s Lord Rama, offered a new insight into his upcoming mythological film.In an interview with Collider, the actor was asked why he wanted to be a part of the film, whose plot or story is unknown to people in the West. Speaking about bringing the story to a global audience, Yash said, “This is a story that has lasted for 5,000 years. It’s part of our culture. It’s our history. So when a country is so close to this story, so close to its people, it means something because it’s stayed that long.” It really means that.”Opening up about what he would like to share with Western audiences, “I think it’s a story about humanity. It’s a story about how a person in any situation has to act gracefully.”Yash, who will play the antagonist Ravana, explains that the film focuses on the life and ideals of an avatar of Lord Rama Vishnu, whose ideals and journey can resonate with everyone. Highlighting the difficult life of Lord Rama, “If you look at the life of Rama, Lord Rama faced incredible problems in his life in India after being born into a privileged family. He was going to be born into a royal family, but he starts losing everything, and he takes it all gracefully.” The way he lives his life has become an example. So I think it will connect with every person. It is a global emotion. I think they will live. It will really help them understand life in a deeper way.’The actor also addressed the scale of the project, which is being developed as a two-part film franchise. Describing the experience, he admitted that “it is very demanding”.He also stated that although director Nitesh Tiwari has ‘technology involved’ in his shoot, he shared the filmmaking process saying, ‘There are a lot of rehearsals, or you do a lot of test shots and costumes. Hair and makeup takes a lot of time. So, to be honest, it’s very demanding for all the actors, but at the same time it’s also fascinating.’Sharing her love for the acting profession, she said on the front page, “If you become an actor, you get all these opportunities. As much as I love this profession, as they say, you start loving the things to do. That’s how I take it, so I enjoy the process.”The ambitious project, which is still in production, will hit the big screen in Diwali 2026.
