Indian Navy has started the online application process for the recruitment of Agnior SSR, Agnior MR and SSR (Medical) Sailor posts for 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches. Candidates can submit their applications from 14 March 2026 to 06 April 2026 through the official recruitment portal.The recruitment process is being conducted through the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) 2026. Eligible candidates have to complete the application process through the official website joinindiannavy.gov.in. The recruitment process will be done through multiple stages of selection.Recruitment structure and application processIndian Navy is recruiting for the posts of sailors under Agnew scheme. Applications for Agniveer SSR and Agniveer MR posts are open to both male and female candidates, while recruitment for SSR (Medical) Sailor posts is restricted to unmarried male candidates.The selection process will begin with the computer-based Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) 2026. Candidates will then go for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT), followed by the Phase II written test. Document verification and medical tests will be done at a later stage.Candidates selected through the recruitment process will undergo training at INS Chilka in Odisha.Important schedule of recruitment processThe recruitment notification was released on 10 March 2026. The online registration process started on 14 March 2026, and the registration process is open till 06 April 2026.The correction window for submitted applications is from 10 April 2026 to 11 April 2026. The INET 2026 exam is expected to be held in May 2026, and the results are expected to be declared in May and June 2026.The rest of the recruitment process, including Phase II examination, issuance of call-up letters, and induction, will continue in 2026 and 2027 for the respective batches.Eligibility and age requirementsAge requirements vary based on the batch. Candidates applying for Agnew 01/2027 should be born between 01 December 2004 to 31 May 2009. Applicants for Agnew 02/2027 and SSR (Medical) 02/2027 should be born between 01 May 2005 and 31 October 2009.For Agnew MR, candidates must have passed 10th standard with minimum 50% marks. Agnew SSR applicants must have completed Class 12 with Mathematics and Physics or three-year diploma with at least 50% marks.Applicants for Agnivir SSR (Medical) must have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and secured at least 50% marks.Exam pattern and fitness criteriaThe written test for Agnew SSR will consist of 100 questions covering English, Science, Mathematics and General Awareness within one hour. Agnew MR test will have 50 questions from Science, Maths and General Awareness with a duration of 30 minutes.The SSR (Medical) exam will consist of 100 questions from English, Science, Biology and General Awareness. All the papers will be objective type and will be available in English and Hindi. Negative marking of 0.25 will be applicable for each wrong answer.Candidates also have to qualify the physical fitness test, which includes a 1.6 km run along with squats, push-ups and sit-ups. Separate criteria are applicable for male and female candidates. The application fee for all categories is Rs. 550 and must be paid online.
