Shimla has seen two success stories this year as identical sisters Avisha Syal and Sarisha Syal from Auckland House School for Girls topped the ICSE Class 10 examination. Awesha scored 99.4 percent, while Sarisha followed closely with 99.2 percent.Speaking to PTI, the sisters shared their reaction soon after the results were announced. “We are really happy right now. All credit goes to our parents, teachers and our school who guided us well. Being curious and consistent and finding time for outdoor games along with coordination worked for us,” he said.He said that his preparation was steady rather than rigorous. He did not follow a strict timetable but made sure to complete homework daily and revise lessons regularly. He also advised the students preparing for the board exams to be sincere and work consistently.Along with academics, both the sisters were also active in extracurricular activities. He was part of his school’s basketball and table tennis teams and also played the guitar. Despite their busy schedules, they said they managed studies and activities together and planned to continue their higher education in Shimla.Awesha and Sarisha are the daughters of Karthik Syal and Geetika Syal, both doctors. He now aims to become an engineer with a focus on physics and software engineering.
