During a past appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, Zac Efron revealed that a friend gave him a phone call and said Michael Jackson was on the other end. “My friend said, ‘It’s Michael Jackson.’ I’m like, ‘What?’ He hands me the phone. And I said, ‘Uh, hello?’ And I heard, ‘Um, hi, who is this?’ I was like, ‘Um, this is Zac Efron. I’m a big fan, and an actor, and you’re like my hero. And I didn’t know what to say. I was walking And then he said: ‘It’s very nice. Can you put the phone back on Kenny?” Zac Efron admitted he completely lost his cool before the call ended, but it didn’t last long.

Moments later, the phone rang again. Michael Jackson specifically called out Zac Efron. “And I picked up the phone. ‘Hello?’ And he said, ‘Oh, is this Zac Efron?’ And I said: ‘Uh, yes’. And he said, ‘Oh, I love what you do. I’m a big fan. I love what you do’. And I lost. I said: ‘Do you know who I am?’ And I started crying,” Zac Efron recalled.
Zac Efron and Michael Jackson were both in tears by the end
Zac Efron’s tears also moved Michael Jackson and by the end of the call, the two are crying together on the phone. Michael Jackson closed the conversation with a line that stuck with Zac Efron. “That made her cry. Both of them crying to each other on the phone. And she would end the whole phone call with something like, hey, Zach. And I want to stop crying for a second. He is, isn’t he awesome? And I said, what? And he says, dreams do come true, right?” Zac Efron recalled.
