England all-rounder Miles Davis produced one of the rarest moments in cricket history when he took six wickets in six balls for Penkridge Cricket Club during their South Staffordshire County League Premier Division clash against Pelsall Cricket Club on Saturday. The fast bowler bagged an extraordinary double hat-trick as Pankridge sealed a dominant 116-run victory. After Pankridge were bowled out for 168, Pilsall looked settled at 49-2 before Davies produced a spell that stunned players and spectators alike.Having already taken a wicket in the innings, Davies opened the ninth over wide before turning the tide of the match in dramatic fashion.
He clean bowled two batsmen with the last two balls of the over, forcing teammates to pull out their phones in anticipation of the hat-trick ball.In the next over, the first delivery brought another wicket, caught on the leg side by the wicketkeeper. Davies then continued the mayhem by bowling three batsmen in quick succession, repeatedly rattling the stumps to leave Pilsall at 49-9.“It’s still a bit surreal, but it’s an amazing achievement,” Davies told BBC Midlands Today.“I didn’t know what to think, to be honest. When the fourth [wicket] I was just stunned and it continued. I couldn’t believe it.”See:Davies finished with remarkable figures of 7-16 from six overs, joining an exclusive list of bowlers who took six wickets in six balls. According to Pancridge chairman John Price, the feat has only been done seven times worldwide, making Davies the first adult male in the UK to achieve the feat.“So it’s a huge achievement and we’re very proud,” Price said. The electrician almost completely missed the game but was able to play after a colleague covered his shift.“A shout out to my co-worker who covered me so I could actually play,” Davis added. “I don’t think it has any toppings.”
