England’s prospects
Playing at home gives England a huge advantage. The combination of experienced match-winners and youthful energy in the squad can be decisive in high-pressure games. Their spin attack, led by Ecclestone, and batting depth make them one of the strongest contenders. Uncapped 18-year-old spinner Tilly Courtin Coleman has been included, while Lauren Filer and Asee Wong will make their T20 World Cup debuts.England Women have won the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup once, claiming the title in the inaugural edition in 2009. While they have been a dominant force in the format, they have also finished as runners-up on three occasions (2012, 2014, and 2018). Outside the T20 format, England have seen more success in the ODI (50-over) World Cup, winning four titles in 1973, 1993, 2009, and 2017.
