According to a report by News18, locals from Papapatti, Pagathevanpatti and Peyampatti villages joined the protest. They alleged that some scenes in ‘Jana Nayagan’ misrepresented their locality and hurt their sentiments. Citizens were critical of how the film portrayed the events of the town’s past. The protesters demanded immediate action, demanding action to stop the release of the film.
