New Delhi: Teenage batting sensation Vibhu Suryavanshi has revealed the conversation he had with his opening partner. Yeshsavi Jaiswal Later in the dressing room Rajasthan Royals Sunrisers Hyderabad put him up for bat at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday. Both young batsmen were clearly intent on going in, and the same approach was reflected in their aggressive opening – albeit in a more brutal fashion than the opposition expected.Yashvi Jaiswal fell for 10 runs, but Suryavanshi kept his promise inside the dressing room. He scored 103 off 37 balls for his second IPL century, hitting five fours and 12 sixes to reach the milestone.
He scored 1000 runs in T20 cricket facing only 473 balls. Earlier, the fastest record was held by Mitchell Owen of Australia who made this record in 533 balls.Suryavanshi’s century was the third fastest century in IPL history. Chris GayleScored a 30-ball century in 2013 and his 35-ball century last season. However, despite his explosive innings, Rajasthan Royals’ total of 228 was chased down by Sunrisers Hyderabad.“When we won the toss and went in, Yash Bhai didn’t say, ‘Vibhu is going to kill you today, man.’ So I also said, ‘Han, today we go and kill. Will not do anything today, will surf. [When we won the toss and went inside, Yash bhai said, ‘Vaibhav, today let’s go out and attack.’ So I also said, ‘Yes, let’s go out and attack. Today we won’t do anything else, we will only hit sixes]” said Suryavanshi, recalling the dressing room chat with Jaiswal.Captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad Pat Cummins The young batsman was also praised.“I think he’s my new favorite player,” Cummins, who bowled against the best batsmen in the world and took 315 Test wickets, told reporters.“He hits the ball so hard, it’s great to watch. It’s good fun. You’ve got to be right on the money as a bowler because if you’re not, it’s going to go a long way. He’s impressive.”Cummins added: “He’s had a great start to his career. I like the way he plays. It takes the game forward.”Suryavanshi has been in superb form in IPL 2026, having scored 357 runs so far, including two 15-ball fifties at a strike rate of 234.86 in eight matches.Former England captain Michael Vaughan wrote on X, “This is a no-brainer… He is the most devastating Indian T20 opener.”The youngster has also taken on world-class bowlers, including Mumbai Indians’ Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, even hitting him wide long-on for a six in their first meeting earlier this month. His performances have led to growing calls for him to be included in India’s senior team sooner rather than later.
