The fast bowler suffered serious head and back neck injuries during the match and was taken to BLK-Max Super Specialty Hospital for observation.

Lungi Ngidi suffered an on-field injury during the IPL 2026 clash between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, momentarily knocking him unconscious and stopping the match completely as players from both sides were visibly shaken.The incident occurred in the third over of Punjab Kings’ innings, bowled by Axar Patel, when Priyansh Arya lofted a shot towards deep. Ngidi, stationed in the outfield, sensed it well and moved backwards to attempt what appeared to be a routine catch.However, when he pulled back, he lost his balance and failed to get a finger on the ball.
