Lily Collinsit’s not something he’ll soon forget. At PaleyFest LA 2026, Park opened up exclusively to the crowd about the fight. “I’ll never forget the imprint of the croissant crumbs on his face,” he said, adding that what made him so memorable goes beyond the baked goods.
what ashley Park said about filming croissant scene
“Oh, my. Well, it was really interesting, because we always say that a lot of our characters are very inspired by our friendship. Like, we’ve never had a fight like that. We’ve never had a conversation like that. We communicate really well, and we’re like, ‘Oh, I think this is the time for our characters to learn this lesson,'” Park, 34, said.On the practicality of the scene, he explained: “Croissants are very light, so to aim properly, you have to throw it hard. And so I wasn’t aiming so well. I think the take they use, I really threw it.” He added: “And to do that to his friend, we had to stop him. ‘Are you okay?’Park also revealed that before filming the scene, she and Collins were “almost resistant to the story and the conflict between them, but we really started to get excited because I think having fights or conflicts with people you care about and being able to communicate through that makes you stronger.”
The unexpected extra detail that made the day even more memorable
There was an added layer to the already uneventful shoot. Park and Collins had their families visit Paris for the first time that day, with their parents on set, filming the croissant scene.“What was difficult, what was interesting is, actually, that scene with the croissant was the first time our parents visited Paris, so they were with us that day. So that was already funny. But I mean, we were laughing so hard,” Park told the outlet. The distractions didn’t end there. “We were filming at this end, boats going by, shouting our names, people on top, tourists,” he said, before adding, “I think they really used that take.”
