
Balu Charan Bangaru Babu, who has been a part of films like Mirapakay and Lava Kusa, is entering a new phase of his career with Sugriva, where he takes on the lead role. Beginning his journey in 2006 with Godava, where he played the hero’s friend, Charan gradually built his filmography, balancing responsibilities beyond acting.
“While working as an artist, I also developed a business to balance my time and responsibilities,” he says, adding that he later ventured into film distribution as well.
Despite exploring different paths in the industry, acting remained her main focus. “Despite going into business and film distribution, I never wanted to give up acting,” she shares. Over the years, he continued to take on different roles as an artist, shaping his understanding of performance.
In Sugriva, which released on Friday, he plays Bala Subramanyam, a responsible father who navigates difficult situations when his family gets caught up in a mafia situation. “We shot across Goa, Vizag and Kerala, and I did a lot of hard work, including learning gymnastics for my role,” she says, calling the film a crucial step in her journey.
The actor also credits social media for playing a key role in the film’s reach. “Without this, we would not have reached this stage. The support we have received without spending anything is something that I really appreciate,” he says.
Coming from a humble background, with a farmer father and a stay-at-home mother, she says every opportunity is important. “For me, every role is important, whether it’s a hero, a villain or a comedian,” he said. With two other projects in the pipeline, the actor is now focused on building a steady and sustainable career in film.
