New Delhi: In a major development, the former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh Joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday, ending his tenure with it. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).Harbhajan, a member of India’s World Cup-winning squads in the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 and the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in 2022 by him as one of his five candidates from Punjab.He is among several AAP MPs to defect to the BJP along with Raghav Chadha.Harbhajan, who played 103 Tests, 236 ODIs and 28 T20Is for India between 1998 and 2016, entered politics by joining AAP. Arvind Kejriwal-led party nominated him for Rajya Sabha in 2022.After a nearly four-year stint with the AAP, Harbhajan’s move to the BJP marks a major turning point in his political journey.
