Ranbir Kapoor As Lord Ram takes on giants and other creatures, reports now say that YashRavana will also get his time on the battlefield.
Ram and Ravana will not share any scenes
Yash, in a candid chat, revealed that Rama and Ravana will not be sharing any scenes together in ‘Ramayana: Part 1’. He confirmed that the two characters occupy separate narrative arcs in the opening chapter, with their final battle reserved for the sequel in 2027. However, according to the latest reports, the film is likely to open with an unexpected sequence centered on Ravana in a large-scale battle with his half-brother Kubera.
Ravana to fight Kubera
The battle sequence will be taken from an unknown episode of the ancient epic and will be set near Mount Kailash. In the story, Ravana conquers Lanka after overthrowing Kubera, its original ruler. This sequence is expected to establish Ravana’s rise to power before the narrative shifts to Rama’s journey.
As a result, this will add more depth to Ravana’s character, portraying him as more than a typical antagonist.
Yash teases Ravana’s origin story
Earlier Yash hinted at this layered interpretation in an interview, noting that the film explores multiple aspects of Ravana’s personality. He also teased the unique depiction of the character’s ten heads, describing it as one of the film’s most interesting elements, without revealing specifics.
In an interview with foreign media, Yash revealed that he will present Ravana “as humanly as possible”. He shared, “Sometimes it’s important for people to relate to it, especially because we have global ambitions (for the film), so we need to make it familiar to the western audience as well.”
He went on to explain, “The story should not deviate from people’s belief system. It was a big challenge but I had fun playing this character because he has so many nuances and it’s a dream for any actor to play him.”
After the release of the first look of ‘Rama’, rumors are rife that the makers will soon release a similar first look of Yash’s Ravana.
