SSC JHT Recruitment 2026: Staff Selection Commission has released the notification of Combined Hindi Interpreter Exam 2026, which has started the recruitment for various Group B non-gazetted roles in the Ministries and Departments of the Government of India. The notification confirms the vacancies for the posts including Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Senior Hindi Translator and Senior Translation Officer.The application process has started online and is accepting applications till the mentioned last date. Candidates who want to apply for any post with Central Government related to language and translation can apply by logging into the portal after the necessary registration process.Application schedule and fee detailsThe above notification provides candidates with the timeline of the recruitment process. Applications started online on 23rd April 2026 and will continue till 14th May 2026. The last date for payment of fee is 15th May 2026 but the period for correction of applications will be from 19th May 2026 to 20th May 2026.Candidates belonging to General Category, OBC, and EWS Category have to pay the application fee. 100. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, Women, and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from payment of application fee.Vacancies and selection criteriaA total of 84 temporary posts are being offered, which may be revised later. These posts include Junior Translation Officer, Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Senior Translation Officer.Applicants should complete their Masters in Hindi or English. In addition, applicants should have a translation diploma or certification, or any experience working in government departments related to translation as per the various posts.Applicants age should be between 18 years to 30 years as on 1st August 2026. Relaxations are as per government rules and regulations.Selection Procedure and Format of ExaminationThe selection process involves two rounds. The first paper is computer-based and consists of multiple choice questions from General Hindi and General English and carries a total of 200 marks. 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer.The second paper is descriptive and includes translation and essays, each carrying 200 marks. Candidates need to register once and submit their documents before submitting the application form.
