After many years of delays and many stalls, the biopic on the legendary actress Madhubala is finally going ahead. The makers have confirmed that she will be portraying the iconic star Sara Arjun, marking a major development in the project. The film will be his first big outing after the success of the Hindi franchise ‘Dhurandhar’, adding to his growing popularity with ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’.

According to Variety, the biographical drama is being planned as a live-streaming release and is slated to go on floors in July 2026. The project, which had been in development for years, suffered delays due to budget concerns. It got a new boost after Sanjay Leela Bhansali came on board as producer, and now ‘Darlings’ director Jasmeet K Reen is helming the film.
