With only 45 days of shooting, the project takes quite some time to reach the theatres. Filmmaker Anurag Basu has now clarified the current status of his upcoming musical romantic drama. It has been reported that only 45 days of shooting have been completed so far.

Talking to Variety India, Anurag Basu addressed the rumors about the film’s final level. He stated that the majority of the shooting is a myth. The director confirmed limited progress so far. This update comes after the first look was introduced in February 2025. Basu said, “I am looking forward to jump into that film (Kishore Kumar biopic) as soon as I finish the film I’m doing right now (Kartik and Sreeleela-starrer), and I’m galloping along with it. I want to finish because I really want to get into Kishore as soon as possible. Kishore has been in my system for a very long time. I want to get out right now.” He also said on the same portal, “Having done most of the shooting is a myth. I haven’t shot for more than 45 days for this film. The shooting has just started.“

The team shot for about 45 days at Chalsa in the Dooars region of West Bengal. Glimpses showed Kartik Aaryan in a rugged look along with Sreeleela. Shooting resumed last month at scenic locations in Srinagar and Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. These schedules have been relatively short so far.
Sreeleela’s movie release date and delay reasons
The film was originally slated for a December 2025 release. It was later delayed for reasons other than the box office clash. Speculations linked the delay to starrer ‘Dhurandhar’ Ranveer Singh but Basu clarified otherwise and the makers have not announced a new release date yet. Anurag Basuk is all set to start his Kishore Kumar biopic soon. Ranbir Kapoor the project had previously been abandoned and a new leader has yet to be determined. Kartik Aaryan continues to balance multiple commitments. She was also seen in the recently released ‘Tu Meri Main Tera’ and sports drama ‘Chandu Champion’ and has ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’.
