In a chat with News18, she reflects on arranged marriage experiences, meetings, family pressure and humorously sets her wedding date of 2026.

The film follows a spirited Delhi girl and a reserved small-town boy, along with their families, as they deal with the ups and downs of an arranged marriage. Recently, Avinash also shared his thoughts on arranged marriages.

Avinash Tiwary talks about his arranged marriage experiences

In an interview with News18, Avinash said, “Abb woh bhi nahi hogi, if I had an arranged marriage, it would have happened by now.” Over the years, she went through her family’s traditional process of introducing potential matches, but none of these meetings resulted in marriage. Recalling one such encounter, he recounted, “This time, my younger sister encouraged me to meet someone. I even pushed him to get married and he was returning the favor after tying the knot. I went to meet this really nice person. We sat and talked for three and a half hours. At the end of the appointment, I left him at home.”

Avinash Tiwary remembers the pressure after the first meeting

“The next day, people in my family were asking me what I thought of him. I said, ‘He was chilling and I had a great time, but how do you make a decision once you’ve met someone?’ They insisted that I meet again. But getting back together would be another step towards marriage. He found it too much pressure,” says Avinash. He also explains that meeting someone and having a conversation is not enough to take such a big step. “I can talk to anyone for three and a half hours. I didn’t understand how to imagine someone even by meeting six or seven times. I don’t think this system really works. But yes, if you don’t know people, the chances of finding them decrease,” he added.“It also helps with your confidence. But in our profession, we interact with a lot of people. Teenager ghante kisi ke saath bhi achche nikal sakte hai (Three hours can be a good time with anyone). That’s why I couldn’t take a call to marry him,” she says. He also shared that there was a phase when he wanted to get married, but his family held him back, considering he was too young at the time. This was in the early days of his acting journey.

“Before I thought of getting married, I decided to get married. That was about 18 years ago. I felt ready for it. But they didn’t think I was that. Abb bechaare bhugat rahe hai (The patient is suffering). That’s why I’m still single now. In the last few years, they were married again, they gave up on me again, they gave up again. again,” she says.

Avinash humorously reveals that he has set himself a new deadline of the end of this year. “Sometimes they tell me unke bas mein abhi yeh raha nahi. I have promised her that I will definitely get married and I won’t let her die before that happens,” he says.
