New Delhi: The teenage fast bowler Ali Raza I made history Pakistan Super League (PSL), became the youngest Pakistan player to claim a hat-trick. The 18-year-old achieved the milestone during Peshawar Zalmi’s Match 32 against Karachi Kings at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.Raza’s sensational spell was the first hat-trick of the season and also the first hat-trick by a Peshawar Zalmi bowler in PSL history.
Showing remarkable composure under pressure, the youngster finished off Karachi’s lower order with impressive figures of 4 for 41. Despite a fighting 85 from Jason Roy, his effort proved crucial in restricting Karachi to 182/9.This historic effort made Raza’s name among the PSL hat-trick scorers since the tournament’s inception in 2016. The list started with Mohammad Amir, who scored the first hat-trick of the league for Karachi Kings. Since then, players like Junaid Khan, Imran Tahir, the only spinner on the list, and Mohammad Sami have had memorable spells.More recent editions have seen match-defining efforts from Abbas Afridi and Aqeel Hussain, but Raza’s feat stands out for its sheer accuracy. At just 18, he has set a new benchmark for young bowlers in the competition.Interestingly, this is not the first time Karachi Kings have won this season. Earlier in PSL 2026, they suffered a record defeat of 159 runs, the biggest margin in the history of the league, further highlighting their struggles.Raza’s impressive performance not only highlights his immense potential but also gives Peshawar Zalmi a big boost as they head towards the decisive phase of the tournament.
