David Dhawan tags Salman Khan

Film maker David Dhawan He addressed his long-standing perception of working with Salman Khan, calling him a “great guy” and highlighting their strong professional equation. In a recent chat, Dhawan also weighed in on the comparisons Govinda.

“He never asked me”

Reacting to complaints Salman can be difficult to work with, David told Bollywood Hungama, “Everybody goes through this. Earlier too, people used to say a lot about Salman… even now. But he’s a great guy. I’ve worked with him the most… I’ve had the best journey with him.”Talking about their equation, she added: “He and I are on fire together. We love to work.”Recalling a recent interaction, David said, “I was shooting and he came up to me and said, ‘Yaar, let’s do something right now.’ It’s always like that.”Highlighting Salman’s confidence, the filmmaker said, “He has never questioned me… he never even asks for a narrative. He says, ‘Let’s make this film’.”He added, “I have done films with him as the hero, but another role might have been better, and he never questioned it.”

“If Salman works with you, he will do anything”

Sharing an anecdote, David said, “My son once told me, ‘If Salman works with you, he will do anything for you.’ That is true. Even after finishing a film, he will say, ‘Yaar, I didn’t get much in this…let’s do something’”.He also added, “I can call you anytime and start shooting. It’s always there.”

Salman vs Govinda

Considering the comparisons, David said, “Actors are different. Salman has a personality, you can’t match him. Even when he fits into a frame, there is charm.”On Govinda, he added, “He’s a very fine actor. Give him any scene — even a weak one — and he’ll make it something special. That’s his caliber.”

About the punctuality debate

Addressing the critics, David said: “People say that, but he always gets his work done. So what if he’s late?”He added: “When I needed him early, he came early. Otherwise, we could have done 17 films together?”
