The trailer release of ‘Raja Shivaji’ was a bitter family affair for the Deshmukh clan. The trailer was released in Mumbai on Monday. Chhatrapati begins with a young Shivaji Maharaj declaring swaraj, delving into the formative years of the warrior king, played by Rahyl Deshmukh. Riteish portrays the grown up Shivaji, Genelia, his consort as Saibai and the clip shows his fierce battles against the Mughals for Swaraj.

At the trailer launch, a teary-eyed Riteish thanked his team and inner circle for supporting the film. He shared, “I am very grateful to the entire team of Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan and Raja Shivaji who decided to be a part of this film. Abhishek was like a brother to me.” Genelia, who doubles as a producer, appeared excited at the event.

Rahyl, born in 2016, is the youngest son of Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, whose elder brother Riaan arrived in 2014. The siblings are often praised for their amiable nature and for waving namaste to the paparazzi. The couple regularly posts real family vacation photos on social media. At the launch of ‘Yaaron Ki Baraat’ in 2016, Riteish reflected on his parents, “It’s up to them what they want to be in their lives. It’s their choice. As parents, we don’t get to decide what our children should be. I want my children to decide their future.’
