Prime Minister Internship Scheme 2026: gave Ministry of Corporate Affairs has issued guidelines for Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) 2026. The scheme aims to provide internship opportunities to youth in top companies across India and help them gain real-life work experience.Under this scheme, selected candidates will be given practical training to improve their skills in companies and increase employment opportunities. Interns will not be treated as employees, and the scheme is separate from other government training or internship programmes.

Candidates must fulfill the following conditions:

  • Age between 18 to 25 years
  • Must be an Indian citizen.
  • Must not be a full-time employee.
  • Should not be pursuing full-time studies (except for final year students)

Educational qualifications include:

  • Class 10 pass
  • Class 12 pass
  • ITI certificate holders
  • Diploma holders
  • Graduates (BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA, BTech etc.)
  • Post Graduate (MA, MSc, MCom, MCA etc.)

However, candidates from certain institutes like Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other higher institutes are not eligible. Candidates already enrolled in other government apprenticeship or internship schemes are also not eligible.

Prime Minister Internship Scheme 2026: Stipend and Benefits

Selected candidates will receive:

  • A monthly financial assistance of ₹9,000
  • A one-time grant of ₹6,000
  • Life and accident insurance coverage
  • Work experience in top companies
  • Certificate of Completion of Internship

Monthly assistance will be provided through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the bank accounts of the candidates.
