TN RTE Admissions 2026: Tamil Nadu Government has started the application process for admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, Section 12 (1)(c). It enables children from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups to apply for admission to private schools for the academic year 2026-27. The online application window is open from 20 April 2026 to 18 May 2026 at 11 AM. Applications are being accepted through the official state education portal for admissions to entry level classes — LKG and Class 1.Under the RTE framework, 25% of the seats in private unaided schools are reserved for eligible children belonging to weaker and backward sections of the society. Admissions are strictly limited to entry-level classes, making LKG and Class 1 the primary intake points.Parents and guardians can either start a new application or restart a saved one in the application window. Once the May 18 deadline has passed, no further submissions will be accepted.
