Bollywood’s power couple, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone announced on Sunday that they are expecting their second child.The couple shared a joint Instagram post that saw Dua holding her daughter Deepika’s mother’s positive pregnancy test kit. The announcement quickly went viral, garnering 4.1 million likes. Celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and many more took to the comments to congratulate the couple and send their love.

Following the announcement, Padukone’s past remarks about motherhood and wanting a large family have resurfaced on social media. In an interview with Rajeev Masand in 2017, the actor said, “The only thing I have to do before I die is to have a lot of babies. That’s what I want to do.”

In a previous interview with the reporter, Padukone also reflected on her life beyond acting, saying: “If I wasn’t an actress, I don’t know what I’d be doing. But hopefully, some kids around. The actor expressed similar sentiments on other occasions as well. In an interview with France24.com at the Cannes Film Festival, she said she hoped to have “many children, many grandchildren and a good life”. Singh and Padukone tied the knot in November 2018 in Italy. On September 8, 2024, they welcomed their first child, Dua.

On the professional front, Singh has been ruling the box office with blockbusters – ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’. The films have so far earned around 3.1 billion at the box office. Deepika, will soon be seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in ‘King’. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film will release on Christmas 2026. She will also be seen sharing screen space with Allu Arjun in Atlee’s upcoming directorial ‘Raaka’.
