Jasmine Sandlas has been in the news for her catchy songs ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, but beyond music. Amidst all the love she is receiving and sharing her experience in the film, Jasmine has also opened up about her personal life. In a recent interview, he talked about his battle with alcoholism. Reflecting on a difficult phase of his life, the singer shared how he hit rock bottom and finally found his way back, with the invaluable support of his family, especially his mother.Jasmine explained that she started drinking when she was 23 years old. He said in an interview Ranveer Allahbadia, “Before that, I abstained, but when life hits you, you seek help.” Looking back on that time, he admitted that he had regrets. “I regret some of the things I did in those 2-3 years I was drinking. Many things accumulated, on the one hand I was famous, I was feeling some things, my family dynamic was broken, my father was no more, and I was successful. I drank more than I should, and I regret it, but it was important for me at the time”, he said, remembering that it was an emotional navigation.When asked what drove her to alcohol in her twenties, Jasmine dealt with the pain of her childhood. “I had a few heartbreaks from my parents as a child. They broke my heart many times without knowing it, so there is resentment. I love them, but when a child’s heart is broken, it stays broken. When you don’t have a safe place to run, you look for home like crazy in everything. I did that all my life, longing and finding home.”Despite being surrounded by people, she described feeling very alone. “Everything looks wonderful from the outside, expensive liquor, people laughing, there were always people around me, but I sat alone on the balcony. There was a lot of loneliness in those people, but I didn’t know what to do or where else to go.”Speaking about her recovery, Jasmine thanked her family for supporting her through her lowest moments. “My mom and my family really helped me through that [recovery]they loved me from my bottoms. My biggest battle was with myself.”He also highlighted how difficult it was to break free from old patterns. “The day starts, and you fall back into your old habits. I prayed so much to God: ‘Please save me, give me one more chance’. I was so helpless. You just need the strength to say no to things. Family support is very important, don’t ignore it. When I got rid of the toxins in my life. I felt like they gave me a new life.”On the professional front, Jasmine has contributed to the film’s music along with songs like ‘Jaiye Sajana’. Satinder Sartaajas well as ‘Aari Aari’ and ‘Main Aur Tu’.
