South Africa women’s cricket team defeated Indian women’s cricket team took a 2-0 lead in the five-match series by eight wickets in the second T20I on Sunday.The result was set by the South African bowlers who dismissed India for 147 runs. The target was then completed in 17.1 overs, with the hosts reaching 148 for two.South African captain Laura Woolwardt scored 54 runs and was supported by Sun Luce with 57 runs.Woolwart built his innings by keeping the ball in space and rotating the strike regularly. He also hit a six off Sri Charani to reach his fifty in 30 balls, his 15th in T20Is. At the other end, Luce concentrated on singles and twos and hit Shreyanka Patil for a six.Patil later dismissed both Wollward and Luce, but by then the result was already in South Africa’s favour.
Earlier, Shafali Verma scored 57 to propel India’s innings, but the rest of the batting line-up could not build on the start. India were bundled out for 147 runs.Shafali added 53 runs for the third wicket with debutant Anushka Sharma, who scored 28 runs. However, India had already lost Smriti Mandhana and Jemima Rodrigues in consecutive overs to Chloe Trion (3/22).After the partnership, the South African bowlers regained control. Ayabunga Khaka, Tami Sekhukhone (3/31) and Nadine de Klerk used slower balls and cutters to limit the scoring.Shafali, who attacked Sekkhone in the first innings, slowed down before reaching his fifty in 31 balls.
