A week after he was found unconscious in a swimming pool, the actor’s family revealed that he died in hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest and being in a coma for a week, AFP reported. His daughters also issued formal statements to announce the news to the world.Their statement read: “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nadia Farès this Friday. France has lost a great artist, but for us, above all, she is a mother we have just lost.” The police started an investigation into his case; however, they confirmed that they found nothing wrong.

Cylia, one of Farès’ daughters, took to her social media account to share a message in honor of her mother. She shared: “It hurts to say goodbye, but mom, I’m going to make you so proud. I’m so happy that in your last few months we’ve become even closer than before. You’ve understood me better than anyone, and I don’t know how I’m going to heal. People always say I’m a mini-you, and that’s the best compliment.”He also said how grateful he is to his mother and that she will continue to be his biggest inspiration in life. She ended the message: “You were not only an amazing mother but my best friend. …I love you, please take care of me. You showed me how quickly life can change overnight. I will carry that with me every day and serve you every day.”

Le Monde reported that he was under the knife a couple of times and in 2007 he underwent surgery for a brain aneurysm. He also reported that he had three heart surgeries.
