Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha recently announced the arrival of their daughter, marking a new chapter both personally and professionally. While on maternity leave, Patralekhaa turned producer with ‘Toaster’ alongside Rajkummar Sanya Malhotra.However, after the film’s final screening, Patralekhaa received body-shaming remarks online, with various social media pages commenting on her post-pregnancy appearance.Facing criticism, she took to Instagram Stories to call the remarks insensitive and speak candidly about her postpartum reality. She wrote: “Pap sheets! What happened to me!? It’s that I just gave birth! Yes I have gained weight, which you all find unnatural. I have not sat and eaten mountains, I have given birth to a baby and produced two films at the same time, which are not easy tasks. I wouldn’t be like this if I could. But this is how my body reacted to pregnancy. For God’s sake, please learn to be a little kinder”.The couple welcomed their daughter Parvati Paul Rao in November 2025. Earlier, in an interview with IANS, Patralekhaa spoke about navigating motherhood alongside her work commitments. She shared, “I’m really happy. Something called postpartum happens to women, not necessarily to everyone and motherhood can sometimes feel like a black hole. But for Toaster and Raj, and I’m glad the universe helped me that way, I didn’t feel as much. I feel like I am a better mother to Parvati now. So, hopefully, it’s a good place to be.”For those not familiar with their journey, Rajkummar and Patralekhaa crossed paths for the first time on the sets of CityLights directed by Hansal Mehta. Their professional partnership soon turned into a relationship, eventually leading to their marriage in November 2021.
