Cinema Express reports that the Chennai Cyber Crime police have arrested three more people in connection with the leak of Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’. These arrests follow six arrests on April 12. The main accused is said to be a freelance editor who stole the footage of the film.

The latest arrests take the total to nine in the ‘Jana Nayagan’ leak case. Police identified a freelance editor as the key person. Apparently, he managed to gain unauthorized access to the footage during the editing process. Reports say he shared the material with others after rendering it, and it spread online. The probe continues with the technical analysis of digital routes.
Court action and arrest of cable operator
On April 16, the Madras High Court granted an interim injunction. It restricts cable operators and internet service providers from broadcasting or facilitating illegal images of “Jana Nayagan”. It follows a lawsuit filed by KVN Productions, the film’s banner. Earlier, a cable operator in Coimbatore was arrested for broadcasting a pirated version.
