Zanai Bhosle captured the essence of his message with these heartfelt words: “He would like to celebrate life the way he celebrated it.” Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. The next day, April 13, he was cremated with full state honors at the city’s Shivaji Park Crematorium.

Zanai posted her first update yesterday after her grandmother passed away. On her Instagram story, she shared a throwback picture with Asha Bhosle. Captions: “Farewell my love, the love of my life.” He included a red heart emoji at the end. He also posted a picture of Asha Bhosle’s body draped in the national flag as she received state honours. In his note he wrote: “Overwhelmed with emotion – I will write something when I can – but I have to say that there were many people who respected and honored him today, and also showed him so much love.”

She also posted a heartwarming video that showed her trying to copy her catchphrases from ‘Umrao Jaan’ song ‘Dil Cheez Kya Hai’ while the legendary singer performs alongside her. I have lost the love of my life, and there is no greater sorrow in the world, so I ask you to live life to the fullest and celebrate it, and celebrate his life!!”.

On Sunday, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi, along with Urmila Matondkar and Vidya Balan, visited Asha Bhosle’s house to pay their last respects. The singer was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Saturday. Doctors confirmed he was battling multiple health issues and died of multi-organ failure on Sunday.
