German carmaker Mercedes-Benz recently revealed the next-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class. And now, the company has revealed the Maybach S-Class. The updated Maybach S-Class maintains its position as a more spacious and luxury-focused version of the standard S-Class. It adopts the same design and technology updates as the regular model along with expanded personalization options. It also makes a significant mechanical revision under the hood. The new Maybach S-Class is expected to arrive in India in early 2027, following the updated S-Class. Local assembly of the S 580 is likely to continue.

2026 Maybach-S-Class: Powertrain Talking about the powertrain first, the updated Maybach S-Class will continue with the S 580 as its base model, which is now powered by the updated M177 Evo V8 that puts out 537hp and 750Nm. In some markets, a plug-in hybrid S 580e is also offered, combining a 3.0-liter inline-six engine with a 163hp electric motor and a 22kWh battery, delivering a combined 585hp and 750Nm and up to 98-km electric range.The range-topping S 680 will vary by market. The US and UAE are expected to retain the 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 with 630hp and 900Nm, while markets like India are likely to get a higher-output version of the 4.0-liter V8 with 612hp and 850Nm. The right-hand drive V12, if offered globally, could be brought to India as a CBU.2026 Maybach-S-Class: Design The updated Maybach S-Class adopts design changes from the standard S-Class, including Maybach-specific elements. It gets a large grille with LED illumination, vertical slats and a bright ‘Maybach’ script, accompanied by the Mercedes star on the bonnet. The headlamps feature updated digital light technology with a three-pointed star signature and rose gold accents. The lower bumper features a Maybach pattern mesh. The long-wheelbase model remains almost 180mm longer than the S-Class and now offers new 20- and 21-inch forged alloy wheels with self-leveling center caps. Other updates include an illuminated Maybach logo on the D-Pillar and revised taillamps with a star-based lighting pattern.

Mercedes has expanded personalization options through its manufacturer program, adding new exterior colors, dual-tone finishes and the Night Series package with deeper styling elements and interior themes. Optional features include automatic comfort doors operated by sensors or the infotainment system. Overall, the update adds design elements and customization options without changing the core design.

2026 Maybach-S Class: Interior The updated Maybach S-Class adds new interior materials, features and digital systems while maintaining the overall cabin layout. Buyers now get the option of extended leather coverage, new upholstery shades and, for the first time, a leather-free interior using textile and man-made materials.
It adopts the ‘Super Screen’ dashboard from the S-Class facelift, with distinctive Maybach graphics in a rose gold theme. The system runs on the new Mercedes-Benz operating system with over-the-air updates, while the AI-based MBUX assistant enables advanced voice interaction. The vehicle also uses an updated electronic architecture to manage infotainment, safety and driving functions, and continues to offer Maybach Drive Mode with a comfort-focused suspension setup.

Other changes include a redesigned center console with an open-pore wood finish and an integrated phone charger. In the rear, the seats recline up to 43 degrees and offer heating, ventilation and massage functions, with new handheld controls replacing the previous tablet. Additional features include dedicated holders for champagne flutes. Overall, the update focuses on additional features and materials, with an emphasis on rear seat comfort and digital systems.
